The Challenge
Simpolo Vitrified, one of India's leading vitrified tile manufacturers, was relying on paper-based processes for quality inspections, shift handovers, and production reporting. Communication between factory floor workers and management was delayed, and data from multiple manufacturing plants was difficult to consolidate for reporting.
The company needed a digital transformation that would work in a manufacturing environment — mobile-friendly, simple enough for frontline workers, and robust enough for management reporting.
Our Solution
WebVeer deployed Google Workspace across the organization and built custom AppSheet applications for the manufacturing floor. Key solutions included a digital quality inspection app that replaced paper checklists with mobile forms capturing photos, measurements, and GPS data; a shift handover application that ensures complete information transfer between shifts; and automated production reporting dashboards in Google Sheets and Looker.
The deployment also included Chrome Enterprise Chromebooks for factory floor kiosks, Google Chat Spaces for real-time cross-plant communication, and custom Apps Script automations for production data aggregation.
The Results
Quality inspection time was reduced by 60% while capturing significantly more data per inspection. Shift handover completion rates improved from 70% to 98% with the digital application. Management gained real-time visibility into production metrics across all plants through automated dashboards.
The digital inspection app alone eliminated over 10,000 paper forms per month. Cross-plant communication improved dramatically through Google Chat Spaces, and Simpolo has since expanded its WebVeer engagement to include additional AppSheet applications for inventory tracking and maintenance scheduling.
